Why use the Heart-Centered Management Method at your school?
- A system for classroom and behavior management is the #1 thing missing from classrooms today.
- It’s the reason so many teachers are struggling to make classroom management strategies work.
- This is why typical SEL strategies aren’t sticking & kids aren’t using them when adults aren’t around.
After implementing this system...
Students will confidently handle conflict while teachers step into the role of facilitator, leaving them more time to focus on instruction.
Students will work to repair relationships in a meaningful way after conflict, and teachers will give them opportunities to practice this in a safe environment.
Students will learn lifelong social skills that will help them build resilience and healthy relationships with themselves and their peers.
How does the Heart-Centered Management Method work?
HERE'S WHAT YOUR TEAM CAN EXPECT:
- Teachers can watch the trainings on demand.
- The very next day, teachers will have strategies to implement!
- After a few weeks, anyone walking into the classroom will feel a shift.
- Kids will be engaging with one another in healthy ways. They will be taking emotional responsibility for behaviors and actions.
Students will be open and willing to learn through conflict with one another.

THIS ISN'T "JUST ANOTHER PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM" ...
The Heart-Centered Management Method is a system for creating a thriving classroom community while teaching children a lifelong foundation in social and emotional skills.
This program prepares teachers to give students healthy ways to engage with one another and build relationships.
Thanks to this method, students will be equipped to handle academic and social challenges because they will have the space to talk about feelings and work through emotions and conflict daily.
Students will be ready to learn and collaborate through a mix of explicit instruction in social emotional learning and on-the-spot reinforcement of these skills. They will be able to problem-solve on their own, leaving the teacher space to focus on instruction and facilitate important conversations.
Most importantly, this program will help students prepare to tackle any changes that may come their way. They will work together to generate solutions that work for the entire classroom community, and they will feel safe to do so.

How does Heart-Centered Behavior Management work with Heart-Centered Classroom Management?
Your HCCM (Heart-Centered Classroom Management) is what you do with your entire group/whole class. It is the foundation you set and how you connect with your class, how you reward your class, how you facilitate repairs with your class. Your classroom management system is everything YOU do to manage your group of students. This is our outermost tier in the graphic shown above.
Your HCBM (Heart-Centered Behavior Management) is a much more deep and intricate approach to the specific behaviors in your classroom. HCBM helps you build a teacher toolkit of ideas and strategies surrounding behavior through a deep study of our perception of behavior (reflect) and the building of regulation skills (regulate) and coping skills (cope). This is our innermost tier in the graphic shown above.
When you become a Heart-Centered School, you’re doing so much more than “fixing problematic behavior” or teaching SEL.
You're creating a consistent system and giving teachers and students a common language around community, behavior, relationships, and social emotional learning.
